The parachute is part of the airframe
Every Cirrus is built around the Cirrus Airframe Parachute System, a parachute for the whole aircraft. In a serious emergency the pilot or a passenger can deploy it, and the entire aircraft descends under canopy. It is standard on every Cirrus. This aircraft pairs it with Garmin Safe Return, a push-button autoland that can land the plane on its own. More on the safety page.
Built for Northeast weather
N369ZD is approved for flight into known icing, and our FAA operations specifications authorize single-engine IFR passenger operations in it. That is the specific approval that lets a small aircraft carry paying passengers through the region's clouds. The Cirrus Perspective Touch+ by Garmin cockpit has synthetic vision, terrain and traffic alerting, datalink weather, and a full autopilot with electronic stability protection. Under the cowling is a Continental IO-550, 310 hp, the engine that made the SR22 the best-selling high-performance piston aircraft in the world. Starlink Wi-Fi comes along. The FAA's public registry record for N369ZD and Cirrus's own SR Series specifications are the sources to check us against.
What fits
Weight planning matters in any small aircraft, and we do it properly. Every trip is planned against N369ZD's own weight and balance rather than a brochure figure, because fuel, passengers and bags all trade against each other on the day. Three passengers with soft weekend bags is a normal load. When you request a quote we ask about people and luggage up front and tell you whether the trip fits before you book, not at the aircraft.
